Instant Pot Boiled Eggs: A Meal Prep Staple

I used to have an Egg Genie that I used to boil eggs. I loved it because the hard boiled eggs seemed to peel perfectly every single time. Plus, it just seemed so easy to set it and forget about it. I didn’t have to worry about my pot on the stove and it beeped really loud when it was finished. However, after nearly continual use, it broke! I didn’t replace it in an effort to save space. Then, the Instant Pot came into existence. Instant pot boiled eggs for the win! They peel perfectly every time.

Instant Pot Boiled Eggs: (The 5 5 5 Method Defined)

I’ve had the best luck with making instant pot hard boiled eggs using the 5 5 5 method. Basically, it means you cook them for 5 minutes, let them do a 5 minute natural pressure release, and finish up with a 5 minute ice bath. If I use the 5 5 5 method my eggs peel almost perfectly every time. Plus, I’ve had good luck with them being done but not overdone. If I leave them for longer than 5 minutes during the pressure release (AKA I forget), then they do tend to get overdone.

How to Make Instant Pot Boiled Eggs by The Dozen

I just use my steam rack that came with my Instant Pot. However, if you are wanting to mass produce hard boiled eggs, then this Stackable Steam Rack looks really amazing!
