Earth Friendly
Stainless steel is an earth-friendly material for making toddler cups. It’s a highly durable material with a long lifespan and is built to last. This durability reduces the need for frequent replacements, resulting in less waste being generated over time.
Additionally, stainless steel is fully recyclable. It can be melted down and repurposed into new stainless steel products without losing its properties or quality.
Durable Design
One of the primary advantages of stainless steel cups for toddlers is their exceptional durability. Plastic and glass can be easily broken, but stainless steel is very durable, making the design great for a toddler cup which will undoubtedly wind up hitting the floor from time to time.
How to Choose the Best Straw Cup for Toddlers
Durability
Most stainless steel cups will be very durable, making them a great choice for toddlers. However, be sure to check reviews to see how the straws and lids will hold up as they are often made of plastic or silicone. You want a cup that will hold up well for your toddler.
Easy to Clean
Some cups have many spots that can be challenging to clean and therefore harbor mold and gunk. I prefer easy-to-clean cups that tend to have a simplistic design.
Insulated
If you’re going to be leaving the cup in the hot car or even taking it to preschool then chances are you want to choose an insulated option. However, for the cups we use at home, I’m personally not so worried about them being insulated.
Straw Spout vs Sippy Spout
Occupational and speech therapists will agree that a straw spout is optimal over a sippy style spout on any toddler cup. I simply went straight from an open cup to a straw cup with my toddlers and never introduced the sippy spout at all as it is not ideal for mouth development.j
