Serving Hummus to Kids

Hummus is a great tool to encourage kids to eat their veggies. It’s a healthy snack that they will love and it’s really easy to customize hummus to fit your child’s taste. You can add different flavors of tahini or even spices like cumin or curry powder, but many kids will enjoy traditional mild hummus.

All of the ideas below are great for kids and adults alike. Just make sure the food is properly prepared for the age of your child given that toddlers and babies need foods cut or prepped in certain ways to minimize the risk of choking. Steamed veggies dipped in hummus, for example, can be a great option for babies.

What to Dip in Hummus?

There are endless possibilities when it comes to things to dip in hummus. Veggies like carrot sticks and broccoli are common choices, but why not get a little creative? Try dipping some sliced cucumbers or even grated zucchini into hummus. If you’re looking for something a little heartier, try dipping some crackers or pita chips.

Now you can even buy chocolate hummus which opens up even more hummus dipping opportunities.
